God has created all human beings composed of versatile natures. Nature of one human being differs from another. Man and woman married each other to form a family by reproducing offspring's so as to maintain a pedigree. But sometimes it is observed that a few numbers of couple are sexually not satisfied the cause of which may be incompatible life partner or impotency of any one of the couples. When in a married life it is a biological need often to fulfil their libido any way. As in Indian society sex is a taboo and looked down upon by conservative socials, spouse or any dissatisfied person search for a brother for the purpose. In ancient India there were also brothels which were governed by the kings. The prostitutes were following strict discipline while dealing with the customer. Nightly one customer was entertained viz. Lakhyahira of Ujjain.

During that period climate and environment were not at all polluted as it seem today. People were healthy and stout. Their sex power was tremendous due to intake of pure foods and drinks. Brothels and profession of prostitutes were running systematically without any misconception of the people. Indirectly prostitutes were being recognized and recommenced by the kings and elites. Children of ancient India were ignorant of either sex or a harlot. Because those activities were being performed under strict supervision of royal courtiers. A brothel was just like a familiar home for the customers. The territories of ancient India was abundantly prosperous. Women were pious and loyal to their husbands. People were basically monogamous and they had no deficiency of sexual pleasure as couples were self sufficient among themselves in this regard and were spending a happy conjugal life.

So there was no rape molestation, dacoities, thieving or any sort of social disorder because of fatal punishment was given to culprits by the Rulers of the states. Those who were bound to suppress their craving for sex under the unavoidable circumstances, the then elderly learned persons or sexologists were advising to enter into a brothel as they knew compulsory suppression of desire creates mental disorder. There are many instances in the global scriptures which reveals the free activities of harlots in the ancient world with proper disciplinary way. Nevertheless the modern people know that too much of everything is good for nothing, they extravagantly indulge themselves in sex on the plea of modernity. Besides that most of the ultra modern citizens consider the sex as a lucrative source of income to be rich overnight. Though women are superior to man in intelligence, they are dumbfounded by the unfavorable situation wherefore they were being pushed down into a brothel in exchange of some paper money.

Basically poverty makes them so morally degraded keeping their all qualifications merits at stake for maintenance of their dependent family members as per the general observation. This type of scenarios are nowadays very common in the Indian sub-continent. Furthermore ancient society were paying respect to a prostitute. For example the idol of Goddess Durga or Kali are made of the soils brought from the courtyards of a prostitute or a brothel as per the direction of the culture. Bilwamangal the great devotee of Lord Jagnnath once a harlot-addict during his young hood. But while he was scolded by the same harlot who showed him the proper living as a decent social man of devotional figure, Bilwamangal realized his mistake by repenting and requesting the prostitute whom he was excessively loving carnally to pick his eyes by a nail so that he could not have to see any woman and afford to root out his indomitable libido. By the by he renamed himself as Sur Das who was a great devotee of Lord Jagannath and wrote down many hymns and bhajans. Hence prostitution was there in society, now it still remains, will still remain in future. One cannot deny the importance of a prostitute's contribution to the human society since ages until now. But it should never be based on the modern theory of commercialism as it is seen today jeopardizing the lives of future generations of the nation.

In due course of time, climate and food habits of the people of Indian subcontinent began to change. India had to tackle huge domestic problem due to unexpected growth of population. Due to huge population growth in India and unequal distribution of money most of the Indian people were bound to turn poverty stricken. The unskilled citizens sought for the easiest sources of income out of which prostitutions is one. In ancient India brothels were one of the components of society administered with good manners and systematic operations. Students were the ideal of good moral characters and brilliancy. But now due to the outburst of ultra modern culture and behavior human tendencies are now changed as well as maintenance of good moral character on the part of a modern youth is a dream. So definition and function of prostitution in India became abnormal. Government is in dilemma for legalizing prostitution in India. As a result, illegal brothels and prostitution are fulfilling the libidos of sexually deprived and lewd citizens of India secretly in the corner of streets and on the public thoroughfares.

Conclusively we can opine that our country is vast and populated Democratic country ranked no. 2. It must be difficult for the administration and to fulfil all the demand of people of all sectors. So poor and middle class citizens are managing themselves to earn their livelihoods by hook or crook. One of them is hidden brothel or secret prostitution through out the country which provide the poor family members with bread and butter any way. On the other hand as the senior citizens we are not at all concerned about the prostitution, blue movies, net pornography, or street harlotism but concerned about the teenager or minor student, boys and girls for how they will stand in future with strength, strict character, morality so as to build a powerful nation in future amid such adversities. So we must wait a while as we now are designated as Senior Citizen, we cannot see the future of our future descendants. On the contrary we must pray Almighty God to enlighten their lives by His grace so as to guide them to live in the society as the perfect human beings. That's all. Jay Jagannath.
