Yet, It Survives
Yet, It Survives
Burgeoning lives in the listless marshes,
Struggling to pull through, to persist, to exist,
A victim of Nature’s persisting harshes-
Yet, it survives.
Fighting, enduring murderous lashes,
Tortures borne for trying to live.
Beaten, bruised, earning its gashes-
Yet, it survives.
Pushing through the flooded and burdened Earth,
Devoid of life-sustaining minerals.
Painfully suffering from the dearth-
Yet, it survives.
Burning in the glare of the heartless sun,
Gasping for air in its sodden surroundings,
Destroyed by humans despite harming none-
Yet, it survives.
Living and striving in strenuous situations,
Fuelled by the passion to show its worth;
It strives to prove the power of amalgamations-
And so, it survives.
Then time stands still until the unknown hour,
When in its boughs shall tremble its lovely first bounty:
The first bloom, a tender white flower-
Yes- it survives…
