Wishes

After a tired day, I long for a hug so true,  

To feel arms around me, like love breaking through.  

After a fight, when my heart feels tight,  

I just need someone to listen, make everything right.  

After working so hard, through battles I've won,  

I crave a soft shoulder to rest my head on.  

When I walk the streets, feeling lonely and small,  

I yearn for a hand to catch me, before I fall.  

When the tasks are complete and the day fades away,  

I need someone to tell me, "You did great today."  

Is it too much to ask, for a heart to intertwine,  

For someone to say, "In this world, you are mine"?  

Just a partner in life, who knows what I need,  

To lift me, to love me, to plant the right seed.
