He Chose Love, I Chose Silence
He Chose Love, I Chose Silence
He said he loved me oh, he swore,
With every word, I meant much more.
Not mine to keep, not mine to claim,
Yet still, my heart once held his name.
No vows were made, no strings were tied,
But dreams? They bloomed and then they died.
He spoke of “us” in shades so wide,
While I just smiled… and stayed outside.
Now he’s in love a different face,
A different world, a different place.
He found his ‘home,’ his heart’s delight,
And I’m just staring at the night.
No hand to hold, no one to miss,
Just echoes of a maybe-kiss.
It wasn’t love, not quite, not yet
But something there I can't forget.
I let him go without a fight,
And now he sleeps in someone’s light.
While I sit quiet, soft, and true
No love, no lies... just missing you.
