Who Touched Me?
Who Touched Me?
She waited with her heart pounding through her mouth
Amid a sea of human beings chanting with hope
“If only the Healer’s hand touches me,” cried a blind man
Her humble wish was utterly different and plain
She was confident that her anguish would vanish
If only she touched the hem of the Healer’s robe once
Nevertheless, her conscience continued to eat her heart
For her success would render the Holy Man unclean
Twelve long years have gone by since her ailment started
That drained her body of blood and mind of spirits
The law took its course to see her ostracized
And made life to the lonely all the more miserable
She saw the Healer sailing on the human sea not far away
Her heart thudded faster than ever as she knelt down
For she was not worthy of confronting the most Holy One
She believed a touch of His cloak would redeem her
The crowd chanted in excitement pronouncing His advancement
Men making way for Him shoved the human wall on both sides
She sustained her position on the ground to accomplish her mission
Through moving and shaking human feet she saw his garment shining
She stretched her hand secretly to ensure it did not miss the target
As the flowing crowd went haphazard for a while she missed him
She was about to faint on the ground along with her dying dream
It was then she realized a divine force taking control of her
She charged through the crowd like a doe chased by a hungry tiger
The deadly bodily ailment that had been taking life out of her
Suddenly conceded defeat as she felt life radiating from the feet
Upon which the hem of the milky white robe brushed back and forth
Her fingers shivered as though magnetized by the waving garment
Unmindful of the moving crowd that stepped on her back
She took hold of the hem of the garment with her fingers
Her action made His feet stop for a moment before she receded
The Divine Healer found a single soul among the sea longing for His touch
Rightfully He healed her ailment and vouchsafed eternal life
