Where Gain Begins
Where Gain Begins
Ice is cold
So is water sometimes
But every time water became ice
It had to lose some of its spice
It had to lose a part of itself
Had to give up its uniqueness
To gain someone else's self
As it lost, so it gained
It's uniqueness
Was forever retained
Floating above its own past
Water became ice at last
Even though rigid
It stands above its origins
Teaching us that loss is hard
But it is where gain begins.
