True Calling

A gentle lull envelopes my being 

as I inhale rain-soaked earth

watch drops from heaven 

come rushing gushing splashing

they dance like a mermaid 

on  river bed on vistas of parched land

on big small puddles 

and on the sprawling arena of sand

a quaint longing 

incites to spread wings and fly 

soar higher and touch the sky

the drama that ensues ...

tightens its grip 

stealthily captivates my modest being

I slowly come to realize

freedom is my true calling

an effortless journey...

from watching the raindrops pour to mingling with downpour

hones strings of memories relating to life's prime 

detailing transitions in the game of life 

where pain and pathos vacate stage 

leave mirth and happiness to rule and shine.
