Death Welcomed Me

I put all my things in order,

said my good byes,

adorned myself with

new clothes and

got ready and

waited for death.

Death came and went

past me smilingly.

I ran after him and

pleaded with him

"take me with you".

He smiled at me and

said, "no your time

did not come yet.

go enjoy your life".

I returned and

resumed my life.

tried to live happily,

but it's as sad as

it always was.

One day, death came

for me, when I am

least expecting and

prepared, come I came

for you, said he

with a twinkle

in his eyes.

"But I am not ready

for you now, please

come later", I

pleaded with him.

"No, he said, I won't

come when you are ready.

I come when your

time in this

world elapses".

Looking at my face

he said kindly, "don't

worry, you will be

much happy with me.

all the people you

loved in your life are

still with me and

waiting for you".

Reassured and happy

I held his hand

and went on my

final journey

with a smile on

my face.
