WOMEN'S DILEMMA
WOMEN'S DILEMMA
Today, when I looked into the mirror,
A Young girl's face stared at me,
instead of my image.
A young girl known to me!
A young girl -I used to be once!
That girl asked mewhat have you done to me
and to yourself?
I did not understand and
stood perplexed.
The young girl then asked me,
What have you done to my dreams ,
and yours?
Dreams? had I ever had them?
If I had any -
life made me forget them.
I have always been a good daughter
and a better daughter-in-law.
I have always been a good sister
and a better sister-in-law.
An obedient wife and
an understanding mother.
While I donned the many roles
and tried to play them to perfection.
I forgot to be good to one person
ME!
While I helped others to realize their dreams,
I forgot the Dreams that really mattered,
My dream of being a writer.
That girl's face haunted me
all through the day.
Really!
what have I done to her dream?
My dream!
NOTHING - I just let it go!
and forgot about it -
but now
I have woken up and took charge of my life
