Thyroid and Me

When I went to the doctor

With my reports fifteen years back

She told me I had thyroid

Which is simple disease to have

She said I'd have to have a tablet daily 

And I may also gain weight

My skin would get drier 

And my periods would be late

I have been popping a tablet every day since then

The potency changed from 100 to 150 over the years 

 So was the case with my weight

Which moved from 81 to 90

And I've since been shedding tears

My skin which was so oily

Has now become so dry

Looking at which these days I just want to cry

This year it was my scalp that was itching so much

I even considered going to the doc for a check up 

I tried some home remedies

 Like aloe vera, lemon, turmeric and curd

But the itching remained status quo

And it left me quite flustered

I heated mustard oil and applied a gallon every day

And after four days of this treatment

The itching stopped HURRAY!!!! HURRAY!!!

This poem I dedicate to the memory of Ogden Nash whose poem 'It is going to hurt just a little bit' has entertained everyone for ages and will continue to do so in the future.
