The Truth Eternal

Are you really stressed

For you are ageing?

Oh! perhaps you have not yet realised

That this is not the beginning,

That it started on the day

You first opened your eyes,

And filled your surrounding

With the first cry

Ageing started and you embraced it well, as you grew older day by day

Spreading fragrance on your way,

Smiles grew bigger

And so did your circle!

Infancy to childhood

And then a pleasant vibrant youth

Which made you forget

The inexorable truth.

You ran and jumped

And played to the fullest

Your bones, muscles and nerves too

Attempted their best.

Now a wrinkle in the skin

And the greying of a hair

Have drawn all attention

And set you in despair!

Forget not, dear soul,

You are the best creation

In the Kingdom of the Lord -

Immortal, imperishable

And the rest is ephemeral.

Acknowledge it and never be skeptical

For this is the truth eternal.
