The Sweetest Day

I still remember the sweetest day I met you,

Till then my brain every time failed to forget you.

Your cute memories are going unto my last,

I can’t get rid of the love-disease even for the 365 days I fast.

The class was ninth, and it was raining,

The weather was love provoking and my heart power was waning.

Your dance in the rain and your stunning looks,

Yet this heart-pounding scene has kept me hooked.

I wanted to get in the class but could not go,

Because I wanted to see the peacock dance in the rain more.

No doubt, she was as colourful as the peacock’s feather,

How one can easily forget such a lovely scene in the love-weather.

I would go to her lanes to catch a heart touching sight,

One fateful day I succeeded to see you enjoying on the eve of Diwali night.

When I went back home, the volcano of happiness has erupted,

How much I tried to study after then, but the lava of gaiety remained uninterrupted. 

I never proposed to you, I think you never thought about it,

But still I cherish you in my heart, I bet as no one did.

Despite I have turned old and you are not in my life,

Even though you are not with me,

But your sweet memories serve me better than my wife.
