A Welcome Call
A Welcome Call
Hello! How are you dear?
I’m fine, what about you?
Long time we haven’t chatted,
I’m sure, you will love this too,
O, absolutely, at least someone to talk to.
It’s terrible, in your place,
What’s going on is unpardonable,
Headlines speak volumes,
Even the digital space is crashing down,
Thanks to the atrocities incessant,
Will it ever end, what do you think?
Are you from outer space?
I jokingly enquired, and to my surprise,
He admitted unabashedly,
Will you judge me then like your people do?
O, no, never, I know how it hurts,
You see, conditioning has been so deep,
That any diversion appears zany.
Switching track, I asked,
How is life out there?
It’s good but often demons arrive,
From another planet, to,
Capture and overtake us,
But our solidarity always wins,
Against their devilish tactics.
Have you seen God; He lives there?
I’ve heard so, the Universe being His footstool,
Nah, dear, but I’ve heard His voice,
Soft and cuddly for the innocents and the wise,
But only severe actions against the wrongdoers.
O, that gives me hope to still live,
Here, in this blue planet,
I try to be true and honest,
Sometimes get carried away,
Never mind, I trust Him to,
Figure out everything, solve this,
Rubik’s cube in a jiffy,
And restore, the world.
I’ll call you again, he assures,
Will be a welcome surprise certainly,
And, another sleepless night,
Meets a sweet end with a genuine,
Smile on my lips.
