The step-father
The step-father
My mom got married...
And I have a father now...
A step-father....
The rituals bonded the man with my mother...
He is more a spouse to my mother...
And merely, to me a father...
The man, my mother and sibling...
Together make a family...
Where I don't exist actually...
They don't trust a single word I say...
Like my father may...
I have a father now....
A step-father...
As I lost mine...
My dear father...
I long for the days when my Dad was around...
Life was joyous, peaceful and sound...
Never did he let a tear drop off my eye...
And always held me high...
I never knew what longing for a thing is...
Because he provided everything I could imagine to have with me...
The day, I saw him, through the glass panes...
For that last time...
At the deadliest place in the world....
The place, which people call it ICU...
The place where my father breathed his last...
The place where he promised he will be back...
I trusted him as always...
And waited for his comeback...
But ....
The man who came in his place...
Couldn't bring me solace...
No doubt, he turned out to be a great spouse...
But, a daughter's feelings, he couldn't arouse...
I have a father now...
A step-father...
As I lost mine...
My dear father...
I can't see my father any longer...
Can't hear him either...
I can feel him with closed eyes...
And thus afraid of opening my eyes...
My eyes get me to see the reality...
Which is nothing, but brutality...
I wish you come back once again...
And never will I let you go again...
And happily I could say...
I have a father...
My dear father...
But I know this is just not done...
As death is sure for everyone...
All I can do is pray for you...
And keep on wailing as I always do....
I have a father now...
A step-father...
As I lost mine...
My dear father...
