The Undaunted Heroes

The Undaunted Heroes

Oh! Martyrs of the freedom struggle...

We owe you a lot.

You had gifted us liberty, independence of speech, expression, and thought.

You released us from the clutches of slavery...

Oh, heroes! We salute your bravery.

We were suppressed by the Lords and the Queens...

Until you cherished our dreams.

There the greatest Hero held in respect...

Clad in hand- spun khadi dhoti.

Deeply we owe the Mahatma a lot...

Who exhorted Indians to follow the nonviolence and Satyagraha path.

I respect the fervor and fiery patriotism...

That knitted all the Indians into one.

The way Bapu wept at the sight of the ruined peasants and piled up dead bodies at Jallianwala Bagh...

Make my heart cry a lot.

Highly I hold the dignity of Veer Bhagath Singh...

For the bravery, he showed.

The sacrifices made by Chandrasekhar Azad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Sukhdev, and Rajguru...

Show us what patriotism could make us do.

TODAY......

At the very thought that we have forgotten our heroes...

I shed tears, tears of anguish and sorrow.

We have divided our motherland---- regionally, financially, and communally.

Spreading violence in the land of non-violence.

And the saint of Sabarmati could never come to guide us.

Let's take an oath that we will make independent India free of every filth and help it grow.
