The Mermaid

I saw her first on my voyage,

While searching the mysterious Island!

I saw her sitting on the rock in the sea,

Through the antique binoculars in my hand.

It was a bright and clear day!

Our ship was having a good sail,

I was standing on the deck

When I abruptly spotted a long tail!

Then I saw a young girl

With long and golden hair ------

She was shining like a crystal,

She looked quite pretty and fair!

She was sitting on a huge brown rock

But did not notice my huge ship,

On seeing the blue waves before her,

She abruptly took a long dip!

She was wearing the flowers of the sea

In her hand, she had a pearl bangle.

She was crowned with the crystals of water,

Her hair was completely tangled!

In spite of seeing our ship

She looked completely calm.

When a huge wave lashed on her,

She quietly raised her palm.

As Venus started advancing

In the western horizon of the sky,

She jumped off the rock into the water,

By bidding me a warm goodbye!
