The Love That Once Existed

This heart wants to just cry each time it thinks of you

It cries every time it sifts through memories......good and bad

Maybe my love was true but blind but so was yours

No maybe not.....at least one of us faked it...

I don't think somehow I did but that doesn't mean I'm accusing you

Maybe it's just fate that played wrong.......

Maybe we weren't meant to be together

Maybe we had to lose each other to realise that love's power

Why it is so difficult now for me I don't know

To face you even once.........

There was a time I couldn't even sleep without talking to you at night

When I couldn't even eat unless I talked to you at least once

When seeing you with someone else was a dagger through my heart

And now you see........I've changed so much and maybe you too have

I don't think of you anymore, nor do I care now who is holding your hand

For maybe it's over now...........

The love that once existed has evaporated now
