The Green Eyed Monster

The Green Eyed Monster

The Green-Eyed Monster goggled and ogled, and darted its slit tongue out,

Its glossy eyes rotated round and round, then it wriggled its crinkled snout.

It groped, it grasped, it gripped the wall, it grunted with a guttural low sound,

The weirdest, unearthly creature-----in the entire universe was never found.

It moved slowly at a hesitant pace, in an uncertain, unsteady, indecisive gait.

Its jaws worked in spasms, to appease its insatiable hunger, it just couldn’t wait!.

Its eyes gleamed and glistened, it wagged its tongue, and darted it lasciviously out,

It sniffed appreciatively, and drooled in anticipation-- a harmless fly must be about!

Its wrinkled skin, so coarse and rough, puckered across its furrowed back,

It scraped the ground, and made a harsh grating sound, deeply marking its track.

The little fly so trusting and care-free fluttered jocundly, and sat on the wall,

The monster eyed it greedily, advancing in an imperceptible calculated crawl.

The thrill of enjoyment ran down the rogue’s body, next moment the treat would be his,

But alas! Such was fate! Off the fly flew, startlingly denying him his envisioned bliss.

The green-eyed monster rolled its bloody eyes, and started spitting out yellow phlegm,

In a rage it started inflating himself till he exploded, leaving a mass of jelly-like venom!
