The Festive Season

The Festive Season

2 mins
199

Waking up another day,

Various occasion yet the exact mundane,

I wandered across a naked road,

Laying aside my ego,

Explored the unloved storms,

The festive season is here,

But I am fallen in some other world,

I like the lights and fairies tinkling around,

However the cyclone of my soul is never satisfied,

I stare at the balconies,

Colorful as they should be,

The laugh and the loud music,

I stand below with jealousy in my eyes,

I stroll furthermore to locate the lost piece,

Dreaming the demons to set me free,

I visit the shopping malls to admire the vibes,

Stores painted in their perfect attire,

smiling faces with a mask on,

The children circling their parents like it's a race on,

I look around more to find my path,

Amazed by the way cappuccino seduces me,

The pizzas riot their heart out inviting me,

The burgers stand tall and are the nicest of all,

French fries wage war and are my only savior,

Strolling further down the memory lane,

I buy the extravaganza of chocolates,

Hoping to visit a friend sometime,

I step out of the mall only to find myself struggling in a parking lot,

As I continue the quest towards my soul-searching cottage,

The sun is setting aside, asking the moon to set the torch,

While twisting the door nob to my lonely times,

As the night runs by, I stick to my couch,

Playing my favorite movie,

I switch on the fairy lights,

The reckless desire to take in the emptiness,

The festive season brings out the worst,

Nonetheless, it feels so appropriate to spend a lonely time,

While brewing some coffee and munching some popcorn,
