The Perfect Family

The Perfect Family

Trust is an issue with my loved ones,

Some steal from me, some traumatized me,

I smile when they slaughter me with kindness,

I ignore them when they lie to my face,

My pockets are emptied every morning, and filled with distress and hopelessness,

They take all the luxury, and wealth to pay for the memories and spend on their quests,

I sit in a corner wondering if this is what it takes to hold onto this tree,

The branches are together yet alienated,

blooming flowers turning against each other,

I sit through to watch the events repeat themselves,

Wondering if I ever am part of the pilot episode I hoped for,

I like the phony smiles in a crowded house,

The weekly gala of deception and conniving souls,

The dishes are served as taunts, and the lessons are thought with so much bitterness,

The sword fighting through mouths, and the war between walls,

I wonder if this is what I wished for,

Be the audience to the drama that I never signed up for,

I wonder if this play is for the rest of my life,

Am I the only one watching it and being calm,

Is the stage preparing for some kind of tragedy and is it all part of the calm before the storm?

my empty soul is trying to hold onto the stage, but the actors are writing their fate,

I am down on the floor, preparing to be laid to rest by my loved ones
