Sunsets
Sunsets
As the sun-kissed the earth's cheek
As nature played her every beat
The rhythms soothing my soul so deep
Hiding away from thoughts that ruin my sleep.
As I gazed at the sky
The crisp golden sky
I wondered about days
That made me cry
All the times that I fell weak inside
Blind eyed to the brighter side
The sinking sun lit up my face
I thought about those in their darkest days
Having nothing left other than a smile
Yet strong enough to walk for miles
Unaware of what tomorrow would hold
There are people still standing firm and bold
Brave when things are tough and cold
Facing life as it unfolds.
