Dark sunrise
Dark sunrise
That morning didn’t turn bright
Life and death was at the edge
Lovers lost their sight of love
Humanity used the harsh ways.
Home became a place to fear
Strangers became mine
Life turned upside and down
Within a span of time.
It seemed like God never existed
Nor did any spirit,
Yet prayers were heard on war fields
While some lost hands, others feet.
A mother waited for her martyred son,
The daughter asked about her father,
His wife reminiscing their wedding day
While a sister cried for her brother.
The war took away the peace they had
They paid a price for someone else
They shed their blood for their homeland
Yet all they were left with
Were memories in heart
And photographs in hand.
