Small piece of joy
Small piece of joy
Joy is not always loud.
It doesn’t always arrive
with laughter that fills the room
or smiles that everyone can see.
Sometimes,
it is quiet.
It sits beside you
when you’re tired after a long day,
when your mind is full
and your heart feels heavy,
and it gently says,
“you made it through.”
Joy is in small things—
in the first bite of your favorite food,
in a message from a friend
you thought forgot you,
in the moment
you finally understand something
that once confused you.
It lives in feelings
we don’t always notice.
Like the calm
after crying,
when your chest feels lighter
and your thoughts slow down.
Like the soft sunlight
touching your face in the morning,
reminding you
that today is another chance.
Joy is not perfect.
It comes with fear,
with doubt,
with days
when nothing feels right.
But even then,
it hides in tiny corners—
waiting
for you to find it.
Maybe joy is not something
we chase.
Maybe
it’s something that stays,
in small pieces,
inside us—
quietly reminding us
that even in ordinary days,
there is something
worth feeling.
