The only thing that scares me more than space aliens is the idea,

There aren't any space aliens,

We can't be the best that creation has to offer,

I pray we're not all there is,

If so we're in big trouble.

Depression isn't a war you win,

It's a battle you fight every day,

You never stop, never get to rest,

It's one bloody fray after another,

I saw the world from the stars' point of view,

It looked unbearably lonely,

We all know interspecies romance is weird,

Sometimes I think gravity may be death in disguise,

Other times I think gravity is love,

Love's only demand is that we fall.

Man has gone out to explore other worlds and other civilizations,

Without having explored his own labyrinth of dark passages and secret chambers,

Without finding what lies behind doorways that he himself has sealed,

We're not words,

We're people,

Words are how others define us,

We can define ourselves any way we choose.

When I cry

When I let myself cry, that's who I cry for,

I don't cry for myself,

I cry for the Cassie that's gone,

And I wonder what that Cassie would think of me,

The Cassie who kills.

How do you expect to communicate with the ocean,

When you can’t even understand one another?

I could write my name across the sky,

It would be in invisible ink,

History is just a way of keeping score,

It doesn't have to be who we are.

As human beings, we're born believing that we are the apex of creation,

We are invincible, that no problem exists that we cannot solve,

We inevitably die with all our beliefs broken.
