Mother
Mother
Mother the universal word for
Selflessness,
The universal word for love,
The universal word for caring,
The first word a baby utters!
Mother, every one takes you for granted,
Mother, you give every one what is wanted,
You keep the household steady and stable,
Every morning food is on table,
Nobody, your husband, or children sees your sweat,
No one sees your tiredness,
For you hide your pain from your family.
While they complain to you, about the smallest pain,
You remain silent about your
Pain,
Mother just lie down for a day,
Then see your family go astray,
As total confusion reigns,
In their own house, they lose their way,
Then when they miss your everyday presence,
They come stand before you, lost souls,
Understanding has dawned on them,
That without you they are nothing,
That you are a priceless gem.
If your absence for one day,
Can make their lives go haywire,
They sit next to you, your husband, your children
Cuddle you, cry with you,
No more will they ignore you,
They have learnt their lesson,
You are a part of their life,
Now, and forever always standing!
On the threshold of our lives,
The visible face of God.
