Love Story of the Sunflower

The sun in his magnifying mighty view

Cares not to notice the sunflower.

Yet, she blooms with golden hue

To smile and twirl at his shiny power;

But he just does his job every day,

So, every night, she droops down in dismay.

The sunflower wrestles all night

Not to wake up to the sun that never caters,

But only he shines through all her mundane plight

To her, his response no more matters

She loves the joy of looking at him from the farthest

From east to west until she withers old as dust!

Modern stories of falling in and out of love,

In a day or night or a week or month

Just wear me off and put me in awe:

Without a rational call with a butterfly breath,

Does emotional instinct ring that often?

The magic of love is neither tangible nor measurable, 

Nor even decipherable in the worldly terms;

It’s as beautiful and epic as the sunflower!
