The Mask of a Little Caged Girl

The Mask of a Little Caged Girl

Survival masks are modern milieu;

People wear them according to social demands;

Convenience is a practical lifestyle;

So people can change multiple masks,

From time to time to fit in and move on with the flow;

A few odd kinds of humans stand out,

And opt not to participate in the fancy dress competition;

And avoid the mindlessness of momentary gratifications!

A little innocent girl falls into such an odd kind:

Speaks loyalty, honesty and kindness,

Gives loads of love to the world;

Helplessness is her anxiety;

Cry of pain and suffering is her panic attack;

Sadly, her values are mocked as outdated stupidity;

Her tenderness is always used and abused!

She let people do that to her by conscious choice...

Sometimes, she just doesn't want to give up

On the people who are damaged

And imposed their hurt and emptiness on her...

She does choose to see what she wants;

Indeed, fantasising the world the way she wanted

Is her hobby and she believes life is beautiful,

With all its balance of Yin and Yang...

Though she has been walking barefooted

On the most bumpy and deserted roads,

She chooses to see imaginary roses all her way...

If not, she would have died long back

And enrolled to run the social race for a secure life!

Whenever her wounds aggravate and spread,

She locks her up in a cage...

Compromising commitment and integrity kills her instantly;

So, she chooses to wear a mask with a hard exterior

To heal and to save the little girl,

But never for the social convenience!
