In the depths of life's journey, I stumbled upon a milestone,

Its age a mystery, like a tale left untold.

Do you remember, dear stone, when love held my hand?

We sang songs together, a symphony so grand.

But today, I stand alone, and she is nowhere to be found,

Lost in the vast expanse, without a trace or a sound.

Oh, how time paints a picture of change so profound,

Promises and dreams crumble, like castles on the ground.

Once, a majestic river flowed beside your sturdy frame,

Birds serenaded us with melodious tunes, never the same.

But now, the river runs dry, the birds have taken flight,

You and I, dear milestone, left standing in this lonely night.

As I contemplate the passage of time, I am filled with sorrow,

Knowing that one day, my body, my smiles, will cease to borrow.

Yet, you, dear milestone, will remain, a witness to it all,

The silent observer, as the universe continues to sprawl.

So, as I bid farewell to this fleeting existence of mine,

I find solace in the fact that you will forever shine.

For in each passing moment, as life's melodies sway,

You, dear milestone, will forever stay.
