Masks...
Masks...
Everyone is wearing a mask,
Look around,
So many people walking with bottled emotions.
They no longer trust anybody,
For the disloyalty, betrayal,
Broke them completely.
So, now they wear a mask,
Burying all emotions deep down.
People think it's strange,
To no longer show a trace of any emotion,
To no longer feel the heat of passion,
Or yearn for the love of family,
Or behave friendly.
What they don't know,
Is that masks aren't built in a day.
Zoom in, look closely,
It took hundreds of lies and betrayals,
For the coat of negligence,
To harden on the face,
Taking the place of all emotions.
It took a person to lose all hope,
To drown in disappointment,
To no longer follow a firefly around in amazement,
To condemn themselves,
To a life of no emotions,
To a life of wearing masks forever.
