THE JOKE
THE JOKE
People yelling, people killing,
All of them always worrying.
But I know something, for the rich and broke.
The world; it's all just a joke!
People pretend to be kind and good,
Their reality; they just wish they could,
A green piece of paper makes them run around,
As I watch, unnoticed, from the background.
They love, they laugh, they hate and live,
But they only take; they rarely give.
Soon, darkness creeps in to stay,
Driving all the good memories away.
They try to be good; not to be a brat,
But they don't know they're just mice to a cat.
They act so sadly till they get their money,
But I know what's actually funny.
They think that I'm a madman, a weirdo,
But my position is high; theirs, forever low.
They're born in dread, life without meaning,
But mine is not, my red teeth gleaming.
I ain't killed nobody, I ain't no hound,
I just sit back and watch the show go around,
I know that I'm full, they'll always be half,
And as they crumble, I have a little laugh.
