LAW OF THE JUNGLE ( Week 8 Theme: Accident)
We had all gone on a trip to a weekend getaway,
The four of us, travelling, had nothing in common in anyway
Nature had beckoned us, with open arms, and we made a leeway
Towards her, excited that we’d avoid city life straight away.
He was the keeper of the lodge where we stayed,
His wife cooked food which left us all dismayed
Gopal could manage and flower the garden which had us astounded
He and his wife were the twosome who had us well-entertained.
One day, early morning, we had all gone along the jungle path
We behaved as if we were infringing upon the territory of an autocrat –
While ambling along the forest trail, we encountered a sight of bloodbath,
Gopal lay slain as if struck down by a hand of wrath.
Blood was everywhere – mixing with the virgin soil,
We stooped near the body, horrified to find a snake lying in a coil.
There’s rampage in the area, trees and shrubs lay in pattern argyle,
Tuskers had created the havoc, coming en masse, in a file,
Gopal was a closet poacher, he had to die under nature’s guile.
