A Halloween Night
A Halloween Night
Every time I look at the night sky,
I see a bird flying high,
With large wings and without a beak,
It then often lands on tall teak.
While other birds search for their prey,
It always sleeps at dawn and day,
And wakes up at night in search of its prey,
And makes sounds like dogs that are stray.
On a Halloween night when I looked at it,
It looked at me frighteningly,
And disappeared in a minute,
It looked like a human
Who was worshipping the stars,
When I searched for it,
It was hanging upside
Down on the nearby turret bars,
It was because of faith,
That I survived from the demon,
Tomorrow was the first day of grade eighth,
So for good luck, I hung up chilies and lemon.
I never saw the bird again,
My trust in God did gain,
“Living happily ever after” was just the phrase,
Nothing did give me again such a chase.
