The Food Of Life ( Week 30 Theme: Dream)
The Food Of Life ( Week 30 Theme: Dream)
Dreaming about the big dream while wakeful slumber
Dazes you out of your comfort, like a cool cucumber –
You realize that you’ve grown old, but age’s just a number
You dream about bygone days and wish for a heady encounter.
There was a time when the dreamy-eyed look was the craze,
Stark reality made that vanish through a purple haze
“Now you can dream”, say others when the car’s into the garage –
To realize a long-cherished dream is worth a toil across a mirage.
As soon as we sleep, the dream world envelops us –
Night turns into a fantasy, as the clock gallops,
We turn to elves, inhabiting a land far away from kitchen mops
This world shatters with the dawn as soon as the toaster pops.
A dream-like reality is something we all wish for –
Wish fulfilment has that warmth equalled by soups of Knorr,
Dreams take us to a neverland – an unknown coast – offshore
Without dreams, we’d fail as humans, so they’re hard to ignore.
So, let us go then you and I,
Will the evening be spread against the sky?
