In Shape
In Shape
At last, upon us, quarantine
House arrest for days fifteen
A time to write, a time to clean
And the time to get in shape.
I stretch the muscles in my back,
Distinctly hear my sinews crack,
Time to get that six pack
So I can get in shape.
Power yoga will get me there,
I wear the outfit, I tie my hair,
Doesn't take me long to prepare
To finally get in shape.
I arch my back, and touch my toes,
Touch my knees with my nose,
Time to do a difficult pose
And quickly get in shape.
Head under elbow I tuck,
It's easy, maybe it's beginner's luck,
And oh, what's this- I'm stuck, I'm stuck
Irreversibly stuck in this shape.
I' 'm no gymnast, but I thought I'd manage,
I'd get out with no limbs bandaged,
My head is stuck, my feet are caged,
Get me out of this shape.
