When It Ends
When It Ends
Instead of wondering
When all of it ends,
Think of all the relief
That will come
When you see crowded streets, a familiar sight,
And smell the street food
And smile into cafes hidden away in the nooks of your city
As your best friend
Sits across from you with tears in their eyes
And says that her grandparents
All the way in the USA
Are all right.
It is only a matter of time
Before we are able
To hug the ones we love the most.
The ones we haven't seen in so long,
The ones we longed to see.
How simple
Yet life-changing
We will have learnt to see
Something as easy
As that.
