We worship fire as a holy totem and a solemnizer
Greek legend Prometheus stole it from the Gods for us, the worshipper –
Shelley’s play eulogizes this great Greek mythical hero
We owe our civilization to this legend, also the days of Roman Nero.
The Ramayana and The Mahabharata are our epics,
We learn about good living and also code of ethics,
Both Valmiki and Vyasa had written in Sanskrit – the language of scriptures,
Yet the epics have been translated and adapted through various apertures.
All the episodes in the epics tell tales – of good life and moral codes,
It is surprising that wars and weaponry were depicted in hoards
A mythological hero, of Eastern or Western culture, possesses no blemish –
Except his hubris – pride – which is grievous and can character tarnish!
