Faceless Angel

My angel stands cold

Beneath the darkened sky.

Shadows that hide her broken face.

Her tears that she must shield from everyone

To stop the tears that may fall.

Her pain is deep,

And expressions are hidden

From peering eyes.

She's ashamed to show her broken soul.

She wishes she could stand tall

And show everyone her true beauty

Even she looks the other way.

Her heart is great,

But her face is grey.

She's tormented by her daily pain.

She keeps her face and eyes away.

Just to hide the feelings that burn inside.

Her body aches more and more.

With every new passing day,

Falls another grey sky

With new tears.

That never want to dry.

Her feathers are heavy,

With the never-ending flow

Of her falling tears.
