Blacks and Whites

I am white,

Uncracked, unwrinkled, smoothened, clear and perfectly white.

Did I miss any of your adjectives?

Are you fine?

In affirmation, I smile.

And I help,

Bypassing my deadlines.

And I swallow,

the tantrums of society.

And I shut up,

when I can cross swords.

My 'tetanae' version, flawless?

Ah, a single no, drowning friendships.

Voice myself, and I turn bad.

But hold your sympathies, for my me, is not over yet.

For I am Black,

behind the whites,

But I'm not always darker.

I glow, brighter than your dull, monotonous white,

Because I reflect the light of the fire,

flickering through my dreams,

to my reimagined fantasies.

Don't like my 'honne'?

But I do.

For it's fearless,

My bold black,

Untied to the societal chains,

No slave to its call,

My inner black.

Rythming these black and whites,

is me,

Like an old movie,

Like the strings of a piano

That makes me feel home,

For now, I feel home.
