Cursed
Cursed
I'm no longer that maiden,
They called 'ravishingly beautiful'
Once upon a time, aeons ago
For they're now petrified to death
By my horrendous, stone-cold gaze.
They scurry away at the macabre sight
Of my long, Slytherin tresses,
A tangled mass of hissing serpents
Which strangulate me every day.
O, Athena! Why did thee curse me
Favouring Poseidon, my predator
Who fed on my flesh and blood
Tainting thy holy temple?
I was denuded and besmirched,
Endured a million incisions on my skin.
While my shrieks rose to a crescendo,
My chastity was being questioned
In your innuendos.
I wasn't the only one
Who ate the forbidden fruit!
Yet, why was I labelled
The sole traitor in thy homeland
To face this wrath?
Why was my soul put through
A million sieves?
Just because I was Eve?
I've resurrected from my ashes like a phoenix,
Yet plunged again into those embers.
Cursed to never look into a man's eyes
This seething love of mine is
Now an inferno.
