Light It Blue
Light It Blue
Nascent smile, cobwebbed innocence
Caged in a vortex, helpless, shackled
Artistic, altruistic, mystic for some
Autistic, unrealistic, lunatic for the rest
He fidgets, squirms and shrieks in silence
Covers his ears and bangs his head
They give blue roses, say it's rare
Just like him, a mysterious affair
His mind swathes an ornate labyrinth
For he hears colors and breathes music
Fluorescent lights are kryptonite
Nails-on-chalkboard, a sensory overload
Patterns, rhythms or routines are boons
Change and adaptation, an infinite doom
He spins and twirls in a vicious circle
Envying every other snail or a turtle
Retreating in shells, safe, unscathed
Misophonia shoving a hundred stakes
He curls up like those touch-me-nots
Laces and ties choke him with knots
The sun feels daunting, oh it's true
Let's tint the window panes in blue!
