Closed Yet Open

Lockdown it is but it has opened up

Things which for so long had all of us stuck.

There was so much we learned 

Though the place of learning had changed

There was so much which had been there so long

But now needed to change.

We did not meet nor see 

Yet we stayed in touch

We stayed away for the wellbeing of the other so much.

Moments we did spend

Memories we did create

There were times we had fun, there were errors we made.

Conversations we did have, stories we did share

A busy life had come to halt

All we learned was to care.

We gave away what was in abundance

We learned there were so many in despair

There was so much we accumulated

Which was now needed to share.

Lockdown did open though still we were closed indoors

The outlook to life which we changed 

With doors still closed.

It has taught one important thing in life

It's simple humanity

Which is all that we need to survive.
