Chasing Shadows

They said gratitude is everything 

And I should be content for my things 

I realised that something was missing

Without it, life wasn't worth living 

So, I began to search for my dreams 

It's not so easy as it seems 

Searching for it in the world's streams 

And even in midst of light's beams 

I waited and waited 

My dreams were awaited 

The world got updated 

But still, I waited

Even after days and nights, 

After a prolonged fight,

It was not found, in spite 

Of searching for it with all my might

They were never going to be found 

They disappeared long ago 

That's when, I realised, it was not dreams that were like rainbows 

All I had been searching for, was my lost shadow
