The Mirror Knows Too Much!
The Mirror Knows Too Much!
I went near a mirror, which was covered with rust,
Wiped it with a cloth, for the glass was covered in dust.
I looked into the mirror, but I didn’t see me,
A golden shimmer was all I could see.
Red for all the rage I held inside,
A Grey glow for all the sadness I had denied.
A shining light of joy, or a stormy sea,
Look inside, make your heart feel free.
A cloud of fear, or a wilting flower,
And all the thoughts that you hide in the shower.
Every emotion you feel throughout the year,
In front of you, they’ll all appear.
For, the mirror does not show your curled smile,
Or your fatigueness after you’ve walked over a mile.
It notices more than just your angry glare,
And it looks beyond the clothes you wear.
It looks into your bruises, maybe one or two,
And notices all of your hidden scars too.
It peers into your deepest fears,
And sees the smile that’s flashed despite the tears.
This mirror- comforting and wise,
It does not judge- but merely empathizes.
For every person, in every case.
It shows the truth, not just a face.
