BEST OF FRIENDS (Week 24 Theme: Mom)

MOM is the shortened form of Mother of Mine,

We two are enjoying tea at the table we usually dine,

Despite arguments, we share a friendship and that’s a healthy sign

Mothers are God’s gifts to children so they can be in cloud nine.

My mom knows all my secrets and so we are the best of friends

The feeling of impartial love permeates our bond and it amends

All untruths that we’ve left behind as bumpy dividends –

Whenever I ask her, “Are you free?”, she answers, “It depends.”

My mom is grace personified, beyond measure

Her smile, amid adversity, bespeak a mammoth treasure –

The corners of her mouth – smiling – defies all fortune’s eraser

She manages the Herculean tasks without grimace escaping by a fissure.

As a teacher, my mom made me read books when I was a toddler,

These books became my companions and made me happier

The habit hasn’t changed yet, because books help alleviate mood depressors

When she introduced me to the world of the written word, I never knew that soon I’d be a member!
