An Ode To The School Bus
An Ode To The School Bus
Can't you for a day
Bunk off your routine,
So I have my day made,
Playing to my heart's content
With my Mama around
For every odd job at play?
Can't you stay off the road
For a few hours
Until my Dad leaves for his work,
So I can stay at home
With my Mom, the full day,
Tailing behind her
Like my neighbour's pet?
Can't you forget just this day
To come my way,
So I can see
The plant in my balcony grow, and
Up above, the family of sparrow,
Away from my school bell's sonorous echo?
Spare me a day, O’ my school bus!
Promise I'll broadcast tomorrow
Before all in this world
That you are my only boss!
