Students

Lucky are you,
Who still have parents;
To check on you now and again.
Lucky are you,
Who still have parents;
Who will ask you the question,
"What do you need?"
Some students,
Are the ones asking that question.
Some students are parents;
Breadwinners at home providers.
We still ask ourselves,
"What is the problem?"
When the real question should be,
"What is the cause?"
Regardless of you being a student,
You have to provide-
CCDU says come let's talk
How is talking,
Going to put food
On the table.
How is talking,
Going to provide for my family.
I am asking,
You sit there;
Listen to a shrink ask you,
"How does that make you feel?"
How do you think,
It makes me feel;
Knowing my children,
Are going to bed,
On an empty stomach.
How do you think,
It makes me feel;
Knowing that when the sun rises,
Nothing is going to change.
That there is nothing,
I can do about it.
Because i am nothing but a student.
They say postpone exams,
How's that going to solve the problem;
I ask-
If the cause of those deaths,
Is not even exam anxiety.
Treating the disease,
Without knowing the cause;
Is just treating the symptoms,
Before they ask the question
"What can we do?"
The first question should be,
"What is causing this?"
Students are fighting battles,
They cannot even talk about;
Not because they cannot trust anybody,
But because,
Sometimes talking is just not good enough!!
