When words reach their limit

Actions must take us to the end

The streets are abandoned

Life has seized to exist

People prisoned inside their homes

Confronting a reality they cannot escape

Empty pots, empty pockets

Children they cannot feed

Mothers short if words to console their children

Storm roars inside their stomachs

The media screams awareness

Hide away from the is deadly ghost

They say...

Death comes in different disks

To some, it came as Corona

To others, it's to come as hunger

When this dark cloud follows them home

There is no place to hide

Some say hunger doesn't kill

Do you know the feeling

Of intestines twisting and turning

As waves of the sea defying gravity

Do you know the feeling

That there's a hole inside your stomach

Only air is oozing in

The feeling that your insides are at war

Do you know the feeling

Of holding your breath

Just to escape the pain that comes

With each inhale

Hunger does not kill... Instantly

Hunger suffocates

And squeezes the life out of you slowly

Words are failing

Words have failed

These children need no words

These children need food.

Forced to choose between life and death

When death is not even a choice

But the inevitable

Where choosing life means

Prolonging the inevitable.
