An Inquisitive Odyssey
An Inquisitive Odyssey
There is mist in the air at the height I am at, overlooking the valley so abstract,
Calling out a name seems so abstruse, it seems nothing more than a self distract;
Never had I known about the acrid world, abominate and amoral so difficult,
I lack the antidote to aplomb myself, antiquated apathy to avenge the insult;
It is Colorado dear, not Texas whispered my soul, with my skin denigrated like coal,
Defaced was I standing, decimated was I feeling defected away from my goal;
Florida was near but I quit going, California was calling but stopped listening,
Iowa was cool but I needed warmth, Massachusetts was asking but I stopped answering;
I was searching for my answers, searching for that mystery untold,
I voyaged to Europe to figure out my answers and landed in Paris to see places quite old;
I went to Spain to get the hang of vineyards, climbed the mountains at Zurich without a stop,
Swam in the Thames to feel the royal country, jaunted Berlin to di
scover that answer in every shop;
I walked into Turkey for an unexpected welcome and accosted people who were so influential,
I entered India the place of religions, to extract my answers from the people so genial;
I visited the island continent to see the other hemisphere, with kangaroos and koala’s much to my surprise,
I visited the Far East islands to look for my answers and found a few figures real and a few in disguise;
I embarked Egypt to see the grandeur of Pharaohs, ran through the dense jungles of Africa appalled by the dense forest,
I forayed Antarctica to see the isolated penguins, bathed in the Amazon to feel the lungs of the world overcoming my detest;
Taxed, I return to the land I love the most, Iceland it is and I stand ashore, I look at the Arctic at the midnight sun,
I realize that the answers I look for are within, I just need a philosophical run;
I still expatiate with myself, experiment with the pragmatic and the idealistic…..I still search!!
