A Woman of Substance

A Woman of Substance

What the eyes see but prefer to turn blind

What the ears hear but prefer not to listen

What the heart feels but hides within

What the voice wants to speak but holds back

Symptomatic of crushed spirits

Lost it all because admitted defeat

Caterwauling behind screens

Embrace yourself celebrate womanhood

Your anatomy with all its imperfections

Elevate yourself show your uniqueness

Don't shy away from flaunting achievements

Poets, writers, artists, film makers,

Homemakers, bust the myths, for

Centuries going on

Shake off that cloak of lethargy you've worn

Too long. Show your might, prove you're strong

Celebrate with champagne, pop the cork

Sizzling, fizzing, overwhelming those who

Still continue to suffer from the male syndrome

Be You! Be Proud! Be Bold! Step out!

The world is yours!

Remember not the days gone

Remember every moment from now on!
