A Whisper Lost In Silence

A Whisper Lost In Silence

1 min
10

The days feel so empty,

The nights are frosty still,

I'm trying to bridge the gap,

But the space is never filled.

I kept my heart wide open,

Through every joy and tear,

But love cannot be bagged,

From the one who isn’t near.

And yet before I enfold

These feelings are deep inside,

I want to speak to them clearly,

With nothing left to hide.

But time has created a distance,

And hearts can drift apart,

Still, love is not so easy

To tear out from the heart.

I speak into the silence,

Though you may never hear,

The echo of my longing

Still whispers you are near.

So let this be the last time

I send these words your way,

A final, quiet confession

Before they fade away.

One day these tears will quiet,

And wounds will learn to cure,

But a part of me will always

Remember what was real and pure.

I guess we're not on the same page,

My heart still yearns for your claim,

A whisper lost in silence,

A love that feels the same.
